Chambers Gorge, looking back

Looking back from where we had come, this Snapshot shows the rock that my husband and I scrambled over when heading into Chambers Gorge. See the links at the bottom of the post for previous images of this area in the Flinders Ranges.

Chambers Gorge Snapshot with water

Yesterdays post showed a face of the cliff leading up to this area in todays snapshot of Chambers Gorge. The area is quite rugged and my husband and I found ourselves scrambling over rocks, avoiding stepping in water plus a watchful eye out for snakes and yes we did see one snake; don't know how many saw us though!eek

Chambers Gorge

The next painting that I would like to tackle is from the area known as Chambers Gorge in the Flinders Ranges. There are massive creeks that run into this area and look out if you get caught in a flash food. These floods have been know to bury Four Wheel Drives in this Gorge.

Pigeon

This snapshot was taken on the jetty at Moonta Bay. Often there was a seagull with a group of these pigeons. I sometimes wondered if the gull forgot what breed of bird he really is.

Rocks at Moonta Bay

The rock formation on the beach at Moonta Bay has always caught my eye. The saturation vary throughout the day but the complimentary colours always remain between rock, sea and sky.

Fisherman at Moonta Bay

With the help from members of the WetCanvas forum, I managed to shrink what was a very large file to an acceptable level for this blog. The thread can be found here.

My problem was very jagged edges once downsized. After some experimenting I decided to use "Bicubic Sharper" with PhotoShop without using the "Save to Web" function. The image is larger but because I want this blog to provide good quality images (I promise to get better razz) the file will be larger. I will try and remember to put the size of the file with the link so that you have some warning if on a dial-up connection.

Kissing in the Rain

Well these two are enjoying a cuddle in the rain with a kiss on the cheek from him!

Being farmers, rain is an exciting time for us. The land has been parched for so long over the past few years that it is a wonderful time.

There was light East and West of the homestead here. The photo shot from my veranda to my sons home is looking South.

This one is to the East which can be seen from my studio window. If you look carefully you can see the rainbow.

As quickly as I am writing this the sun is setting.

Good night my friends, peace!

Moonta Bay Shelter on Beach Front

Malcolm (husband) and I have enjoy the odd ice-cream sitting under this shelter to avoid the blistering sun during our January holidays at Moonta Bay over the last few years.

Looking through Water

Another snap from my holiday at Moonta. I don't necessary take pretty pictures at all times but do try to keep things interesting. I just love the way light plays on and through water then to sparkle and play, touching what sits below on the bottom of the seabed.
